Hey all,

I've created a bot that I'm experimenting with running. The bot is called "Relay" and will sit in the tearoom. Anything it sees it will echo to the #tearoom channel at mud2.slack.com (which anyone can join - mudmail Havoc).

As a bonus anyone in the #tearoom can use Relay to communicate with folks in mud. E.g. "@relay say hi".

This is powerful because all of a sudden folks have a low effort way of keeping in touch (as well as seeing what happened recently).

Now this creates the opportunity for abuse and I've prevented the blatant ways (e.g. entering the land to help open the pc, or passively observing when someone else joins the reset). I'm sure folks could find a way to effectively multiline using it. I've just made it hard to do that by accident. If it gets abused I'll ban the user or shut down the bot.

In the meantime I hope that this will help maintain a sense of community. Give it a shot!

Cheers,
Havoc

This app is trash Havoc. its a bad copy of Discord and fairly annoying to use, Is there no way to use discord instead? i could set it up if it would make it easier aswel.

I've made a discord server for everyone to use if they would like. all you have to do is follow this link and it will add you to the server https://discord.gg/HexBJ
its just like the app you've put up Havoc but a little easier to use and nicer to look at if you join let me know and ill mod you on it so you can have a play around with the settings and whatnot.

Can you post a link that takes longer to expire?

I've found a dedicated server where Mud people from all over the world can interact, chat, etc.

It can be found at mudii.co.uk, and is best visited using a suitable telnet client.

If you don't have an account, you can create one at http://www.mudii.co.uk/newaccount.php

What's good about Discord is that they have a mobile app as well as a log. I like it a lot as it makes it less hassle for folks to stay in touch.

Arches also don't give you snarky permanent prefixes for chatting using it...

To be fair, I'm a big fan of chatting, and not a big fan of permanent prefixes, so either way, it's unlikely to be arch given.

Wizzes on the other hand...

To be fair there's mobile apps for mud too, the android one is called Blowtorch, not sure about the apple version. I think Royston uses it so it may be worth asking him.
