On 09-05-2025 19:15, Zalagar wrote: The mobile bashes have returned after a few months' hiatus. Special thanks to Dara, Winnie, and Zarquadon for their assistance with this writeup. I'm splitting this into parts for easier reading: After a few months' hiatus, the mobile bashes returned on May 8th, 2025. At the start of the bash, the players were as follows: Players: Heiach the chimerical wizard Winnie the warlock Dara the sorceress Monmonnn the sorcerer Drizzle the wobbly mage This was the first bash we'd had in a few months. We were joined by a new participant, Monmonn, who has started playing this incarnation of MUD2 only recently. This bash would have more than a few surprises. A strong start Things got off to a quick start, as Dara dispatched the raven and Winnie made short work of the parrot. Monmonn reported sightings of the pike and the eel, two rarely seen mobiles that occasionally spawn in The Land. As Dara fought with the stag, Winnie disposed of the scorpion and viper-shaped biohazards. Monmonn, meanwhile, was made bash-general for the first time. There was a flood in the mine. Meanwhile, Dara finished off the stag as the pagoda opened up. Monmonn, meanwhile, went after the basilisk. Dara finished off the fox and got rid of the ox, while Winnie took out a drunken thief. All three of them headed to the classical ruin for the pillar boost. Afterward, Dara had a shocking confrontation with the electric eel, but afterward proclaimed "Eel done!". Winnie killed five fireflies. Dara then ventured to the open pagoda area and fought with ape0, while Monmonn went to the cellar to deal with its rat infestation problem. Winnie went piking (in other words, went after the aforementioned pike). *Winnie the warlock shouts "Taking the pike out for a hike(?)". *Monmonnn the bash-general necromancer shouts "Going to hitch a wagon with the dragon...". *Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "the apes seem to all be in-fighting". *Monmonnn the bash-general necromancer shouts "They're dooming themselves!". Part Two: Pagoda, water-snakes, and dragon Winnie took down the magpie during this, and then went to fight the water-snakes, as is her usual habit during these mobile bashes (by her own admission). Dara, meanwhile, went to the upper north mountain/snowy mountainside area, and fought with the snowbird. Winnie and/or Zarquadon's lackey (who's Zarquadon? We'll get to that later) assumed the snow leopard was on the loose, but Dara informed me she saw no snow leopard during the bash - it, like the pike and the eel, is one of those rarely seen mobiles that only occasionally appears. Around the time Dara ended the snowbird's flight, Monmonnn declared his intent to make the undead unundead. Dara fought with the pony, making a reference to a certain pony-themed series' theme as she did so. Monmonnn, meanwhile, sought the dragon as Winnie continued to seek out water-snakes. Monmonnn accomplished his mission (Dara and Winnie assumed his announcement meant he had fed the dragon and escaped from the dragon's island safely), and left the dagger in the hut (presumably because he'd found another weapon). The wolf went AAAOOOOOOHHHH, and soon there were 125 mobiles left, with 81 mins remaining. Around this time, Dara had fought and successfully combatted the monk. Ape9 interfered during the monk fight, and after Dara finished the monk, she pursued the fleeing ape9 to the nearby dining hall to conclude the matter, as Monmonn announced his intention to deal with the dwarfs. Dara fought ape8, Monmonn fought sk1, and Winnie wrapped things up with the remaining water-snakes. Oh, and the dragon went down. Some interesting prefixes were assigned, as we can see here: *who Heiach the chimerical wizard Winnie the malleting warlock Dara the sorceress who's going ape Monmonnn the dragon-slaying, bash-general necromancer Drizzle the wobbly mage *Winnie the malleting warlock shouts "I am pleased to announce that there are no more water-snakes (I am helping)". *Monmonnn the dragon-slaying, bash-general necromancer shouts "Well done!". *Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "now for the fire and earth snakes". At this point, Dara asked Heiach if this was a preview of another one of his reset remixes (which introduce new variations on existing elements, among other things), and Heiach responded "no that's silly". We'll have to wait and see on that one, I guess. (continued next post)
