BASH REPORT FOR THURSDAY 18TH AUGUST 2011

I had been lucky during the day, when after a considerable struggle to reach Champion and being a shade unlucky at the touchstone, another player gave me considerable help to reach Champion again and this time I was more fortunate. I will not embarrass him or her by naming them but without your help I would have not made Sorcerer in time for the Bash. You know who you are. Thank you.

Calling the roll soon after it started showed the following players in the game:
*qw
Crazyfool the stand-up wizard
Nymeria the protector
Holyone the prelate
Gaia the sorcerer
Sambor the necromancer
Folly the sorcerer
Royston the sorcerer
Ouch the sorcerer
Wtf the hero

With this number of players the Pagoda was sure to open and the Giants? Realm was likely. And so it proved. It also proved difficult to kit up as other players got ahead of me. My first kill was s the Billy Goat. Folly, for some strange reason was collecting bees and keeping them in a box. No doubt for some esoteric reason I don?t know.

All the usual mobiles were dealt with really rapidly and we teamed up for the Giants. The extra Goblins proved no trouble and, with team work, neither did the Giants. They were all killed one by one. Those partaking were honoured:

*qw
Pippin the protector
Nymeria the protector
Holyone the giant-killing prelate
Gaia the giant-killing, bash-general sorcerer
Sambor the giant-killing necromancer
Folly the sorcerer
Royston the giant-killing sorcerer=
Ouch the giant-killing necromancer
Wtf the giant-killing superhero

I next went to the Pagoda to try once again, and again without success, to find my way up to the higher levels. I was worried about meeting up with the Giant Snake, so:

wh giant snake
Your spell doesn't find any.
*wh giant snake
Your spell doesn't find any.
*wh giant snake
Your spell doesn't find any.

And a little later on:

Screened-off room.
Coiled before you is a giant snake!
*s
The giant snake prevents you from leaving the room.
*The giant snake is advancing towards you ominously...

It seems to me you cannot rely on the WH command when it gives a negative result. Luckily for me Gaia, Folly and Ouch all arrived on scene and helped out. I may be sticking my neck out, but this snake does not seem a poisonous one like the Viper but it can give you a nasty hug.

We were very soon down to just five mobiles and I had killed only eleven. Except the Golem, I have no idea which ones were left. The Golem went, for once without a hitch.

This was a really enjoyable Bash. Players seem afraid of the Giants? opening up but when you have this number on they can be overcome by ganging up on them. No one died.

Not if you use adjectives, try "wh giantsnake".

I thought I'd post something from the bash that was interesting or amusing, but decided they were neither.

I wonder if we could persuade the Wizzes to post a 'flee of the week/month'? I would not expect them to trawl through all the logs; just note those they happen to come across worth sharing.

Yes - Just the relevant bit. A 'log extract'. Beginning to sound mathematical now.
