BASH REPORT FOR THURSDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2009

For once I admit I was forty minutes late logging in because of a rl commitment. I found Throw in the Tearoom on his own and we chatted a bit. Then Blib came on and we chatted a bit more. Then we all logged out.

With an sv count of 160 left at 62 minutes of play to go, the mobs would not have made it on their own. Can we please have a full turn out at 9:00pm next Thurs and for once make it a good Bash?

Then maybe we should have another go at The Monks? Quest on the following week.

If I start levelling now, I might make swordsman in time for the bash!

Get him on mud, tell him the objective of the game is to find an empty reset.

Christ almighty what a sad sad read this is. Thinking about it, its only been going downhill over the last what, two months? Since the quest I believe, second time round. So what do you guys reckon has changed, why do you think that Thursdays are so quiet? I don't want to ask why do you think most evenings are quiet because even if people are too busy to turn up most evenings surely Thursdays are worth making an effort for, even if you come on halfway through the bash its still a gesture. Do people really not care anymore?

Turning up for bashes/events should be something people do because they want to and because its fun, not because they are guilt-tripped into doing it out of some sense of obligation. The latter approach seems more likely to put people off if anything, in my opinion. In fact I've had one person tell me that they don't feel like playing much anymore because they get hassled about showing up to such things.

Also, the problem may be connected to the fact that we don't have many new players these days, and sooner or later older players are going to get bored of playing bashes (through no fault of the game or wizzes!), so the number of regular bashers has dwindled over time. You and I, Zordell, play bashes at about the same frequency as each other (i.e. hardly ever), and I think you know that doesn't mean we don't care.

For me personally, I've simply been too busy to be able to devote much time to MUD for the last two months. I still stay in touch with people and I still read and post on here. I know that once my schedule returns to normal again, I will be back in the game more regularly.

Couldnt agree more. Thankfully I found a place for games where people actually want to play.

Maybe I should rephrase.
To put it in a more delicate way, it is simply a question of why is it quieter now, compared to a few months ago?

There, that doesn't sound so RAR does it

I see 6 people who posted here about this, not counting Armand and myself. 6 people can do a bash easily. If we take out Blib, it's 5. Still easy! So next week you all can get together on Thursday and chat about why no one is playing, whilst doing a bash.

Why take out Blib? He's a demon with the FFs. The only problem is he might open up the Giants' but he knows how to do that from the Tearoom anyway.

Did you include the Wizzes? They don't count. : )

Isn't 'take out' a Yankee euphemism for murder????

Personally, I got bored of being a target when a PKer decides to ruin a bash. I'm not saying that during bashes there should be no PvP, but anyone below warlock should be able to feel pretty safe. Yes, I could play a PP, but then you just get hassle of 'not being able to play as a non-PP'.
