Mud2 played a significant and memorable role in the earier part of my life. I can't remember the exact year it was when I first played, but it was in the early days of Wireplay. It was probably around 1997, I would have been about 12 or 13. I went by a different and rather simple name back then - Properson. As in ProPerson - I was young and naive. I only used Wireplay to play C&C Red Alert or Duke Nukem. There were times when no games were available. That is how I ended up trying Mud, and in the end it was all that I played. I find my behaviour from those days quite shameful to be honest. I was so young, and people at that age can behave quite stupidly, some especially so. People can also change, and while some might not change much, some change a lot. My online gaming did not end with Mud. I got into mmorpgs after that. Though i'm finished with them now, a case of been there done that. Little detail some might find amusing. I have a mention on wikipedia for being the top player and prize winner on the FPS game Kwari before it was shut down. Look up "Kwari Sinister" on google if interested. As i've evolved as a person my desire for player killing diminished. I just don't find it fun any more. I think it's wrong to be mean to someone if you can choose not to be. How is my life in the present? Better, much better. I'm glad about where my life has taken me and more importantly, who I have become so far.
It's been a long time since we've heard from you, Rev (or as I liked to call you, 'Mr. Erence' - my running joke was that we weren't on first name terms). It's good to know you've changed a lot since those days. I think we all have, to some extent. We look back on our behavior from fifteen or twenty (or more) years ago, and find things we're embarrassed by. As for me, I keep coming back to MUD2 even though I have played an MMORPG in the past several years as well on and off. Things have quieted down around here, but I still turn up here a lot. I've never been particularly fond of PK'ing, but I can respect those who are sporting about it and only attack those who are of their level, are just a level lower or just a level higher. As long as it's in within certain limits and scruples, it can avoid being bullying and instead be a challenge. Though at the same time, many players don't care for PK'ing and will try to avoid it when possible. Anyway, it's good to hear from you again.
