I'm not new to MUD per se, as I played it while it was still running on the machines at Essex University back in the early 80s (the cost of the dedicated PSS line kept me from going down the pub!), and followed its migration from there to MUSE (paid quite a bit of dosh for that) to BT to Compuserve (British Legends). Haven't played in years and I'm looking forward to having a wander through the land and the valley again (although it appears that the two have merged for MUD2) while I get my bearings - and update my very much out-of-date maps! If anyone is interested, I still have the log from my very first Spectacular (I think you call them Sorceror Wars now) that I could post. Is there a repository somewhere for these? I also have a couple of articles from Micros Adventurer circa 1984 with Richard Bartle about MUD, complete with drawings of the land. I had my own map of the Valley published in one adventure mag but sadly don't have a copy of the magazine, although I do have the original map used for the article (drawn using one of the very first Apple Macintoshes!). If anyone is interested in seeing any of these, I could scan them an email them or post them somewhere for everyone to see. Anyway, good to have found you all, and I look forward meeting some of you in the Land. Regards, E.
