Here is a mega-thread for the mobile bashes that occurred during the month of June in 2025.

Mobile Bash June 5th, 2025

The mobile bash for June 5th, 2025 began with the following:

Heiach the chimerical wizard
Zarquadon the superheroine
Dara the sorceress
Monmonnn the necromancer
Drizzle the wobbly mage

Part 1: A quick start, but long and tough fights

The participants hit the ground running, with Dara getting the butterfly and the dragonfly out of the way, while Zarquadon put down the ox on her way to obtain a glow. Monmonnn made a beeline to the grandfather clock, but it was unexpectedly locked.

Dara fought with the fox at the foxhill (both in too much of a hurry to do a foxtrot). Dara didn't find that fight too difficult, but the stag at the deerpark was another story. It took a while for the stag to go down.

Dara wasn't the only one who had a rough fight at this point. Zarquadon noticed the thief on her way down from the attic (the thief had clearly ransacked the place), and decided that it would be a good idea to strike. The fight didn't go well, and Zarquadon fled at 5 stamina.

During the two above mentioned fights, Monmonnn was elected bash general. Monmonnn reminded us that the jellyfish (an especially elusive mobile living in the sea) exists.

While Dara rested up from her hard-fought victory, Zarquadon made her way back into The Land - but then found herself facing off against the goat! But, with some help from a very convenient stick, Zarquadon managed to end it before it got out of hand.

Meanwhile, Monmonnn was fighting zombies in the mines. Lacking a light, Zarquadon was in no position to help. She did, however, manage to defuse the viper.

And then Dara made an announcement.

Dara the sorceress shouts ""For those wanting to visit Basil Isks's Statue Emporium, the proprietor is busy at the moment... oops, out of business for the rest of the set! "

Anyway, Dara rested up while the others had their fights with zombies, and the wolf went AAAOOOOOOHHHH! Dara finished the piglet, but still hadn't recovered stamina fully, so she was attacked by the banshee at the swamp on the way to the pillar party. Heiach interrupted that fight by temporarily capturing the banshee.

After everyone got together for the pillar buff (at this point, there were 164 mobiles left with 90 minutes to go), Dara resumed the fight with the banshee. Afterward, Dara would defeat zombie8, but would have to flee from skeleton1 in the mines near the valve.

Part 2: Rats, apes, water-snakes, and incredibly bad timing

Dara had to rest up, but was still able to help Monmonnn when he asked where the refectory was.

Dara would spot the raven at the inn entrance, and later go on the ape forest area while Monmonnn cleared the rats from the cellar and asked if anyone wanted to feed the dragon. Dara and Zarquadon were too busy with their own missions to do so, so Monmonnn took on the job himself.

Zarquadon, meanwhile, did her usual quest of water-snake removal. Along the way, she found the longsword (with 77 minutes left to use it). Monmonnn fed the dragon, but unfortunately had an accident on the way out so he would not get the points for the dragon task.

*A male voice in the distance shouts "Dragon fed, I may have slipped".

Dara ended the snowbird's flight, and then went on to send the pony to another farm. Zarquadon finished her quest-within-a-quest (she described it as a miniquest, but I would argue that in the context of a mobile bash, it's part of the main quest) to make the water of the underground lakes and streams snake-free. At this point, there were 72 minutes left in the bash.

Dara fought and pursued ape10 through many rooms in the ground floor of the pagoda. Meanwhile, the thief stole the longsword from Zarquadon, who warned everyone else that "thief is very armed and very dangerous!". Monmonnn, meanwhile reported that the bees were gone.

Zarquadon grabbed the falchion and started to battle the ram. Monmonn joined in the battle, and the two of them managed to defeat the sheepish foe.

Dara, unfortunately, ran into some horrible luck fighting the thief. The fight was a long one, and during it, Dara had eaten one of those special wafers that has a side-effect of causing one to fall asleep after a few minutes of eating it. And unfortunately, she did not have any of the tools that magically keep people awake. Most unfortunately, the aforementioned side effect kicked in just as Dara's stamina was low enough that one good hit could be lethal. This resulted in Dara being unable to flee, and for the following to happen:

Dara would reincarnate as a novice. The damage was done. However, Zarquadon would fight the thief, resulting in good news and bad news.

You have killed the thief.
You have change experience level from superheroine to championne.
Persona saved on +1,180 = 13, 022).
The longsword goes down the hole and into the sett.
The thief has just passed on.

Good news: Zarquadon managed to take the thief down!
Bad news: the ls also went down! (literally down. into the badger's sett.) And no one could get back anything that fell into the badger's sett.

Part 3: Ogre, undead, and the citadel

Dara would swamp loose treasure and swat a few fireflies, and realize to her frustration that Monmonnn was the only magic user left participating in the bash, and therefore the only one who could WHERE mobiles. Monmonnn, meanwhile shouted "I've got garlic, wafers, and a heavy cross... it's time for a vampire.".

Zarquadon, meanwhile, decided to go grave-robbing and ghoulbusting, so the undead were getting a lot of focus at this point in the set. Heiach, meanwhile, kindly allowed Dara to find the oracle, which would help with the WH spell. The vampire and the wraith were soon dealt with.

Dara would fight some goblins and get a knife to use as a weapon from them, but have to flee from the ogre - twice. Third time, Monmonnn helped to finish the ogre off. Monmonnn then headed for the dwarfs.

Dara and Zarquadon would fight dwarfs at the entrance to the citadel, while Monmonnn would fight sk1 at the stony slope.

Dara, meanwhile, was resting from fights, but (as this excerpt from her notes indicates) was still up to shouting a few jokes.

Part 4: Dwarfs, Keep, and Pagoda

Dara would fight a few more dwarfs, and at one point, Heaich made an offer.

*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "if there was 1 thing I could do, what
would it be (if you wanted it), like return wafers, bring weapons etc..".

Dara the cabalistic swordswoman shouts "Return wafers?".
Monmonnn the vampire-slaying, bash-general necromancer shouts "Wafers!"

Wafers were found in box1 in front of the hut. Dara dropped a few in places to distribute them, but it's doubtful that strategy would do much good. In any case, Monmonnn and Dara fought the hefty dwarf guards, and Monmonnn and Zarquadon would take down the burly dwarf guards.

Dara and Monmonnn would fight with the king dwarf. Dara was blinded during the fight with the king dwarf, and had to flee. Monmonnn would finish the fight.

Meanwhile, Zarquadon would rush into the surly dwarf guards' guard room and successfully steal the shortsword from surly dwarf11 guard. The surly was not pleased about Zarquadon stealing the shortsword, and Zarquadon was not happy about one of the surlies stealing her wafer.

*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "I hate to carp on or be boaring but man, stop MONKeying around".

With 33 mobiles alive, and 24 minutes to go, Dara and Monmonnn rushed in to finish off the dwarf guards in the treasure chamber. Afterward, Heiach reminded everyone that the ghoul already perished.

Monmonnn fought ape6 in the swamp, and ape6 refused to give up its wafer. Dara would go on to fight the monk, and Zarquadon would report that skeleton2 was down. Dara would make her way through the pagoda, finding the carp and shouting out "Carpe carp! (Seize the carp, for those who don't speak Latin)."

Monmonnn would report that the swan, the jellyfish, the sharks, the dove, and the snugglepuss were still around. Zarquadon and Monmonnn would take on the keep while Dara fought the giant snake, but ran into some horrible luck there.

The following players have died in fights this reset:
Dara the magical swordswoman, killed by the giant snake,
Dara the dragonfly-slaying sorceress, killed by the thief.

At this point, Galandra appeared, announcing that Dara had to bow out due to bad luck. Galandra was taking her place to salvage this set. Zarquadon, meanwhile, had been poisoned, but managed to find some actual antidote in the mines.

Monmonnn fought the griffin and said "The griffin is a tough one!", while Galandra took down ape11. Monmonnn would conclude business at the keep while Galandra ended the giant snake's hissy fit.

Galandra, unfortunately, had to flee from the tiger. After Zarquadon and Monmonnnn finished off the hunchback at the olive grove, there were 15 mobiles left. Monmonnn would show up to finish off the tiger.

Part 5: Sealife, misplaced upper pagoda mobiles, and the ending

Monmonnn and Zarquadon would go off to sea to finish sealife, but would run into a mishap. While they were fighting shark0, the weather started getting rough and their tiny vessels were tossed. And instead of setting ground on the shore of an uncharted island, they were both kicked out of The Land and had to re-enter. The moral of the story?

*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "don't set sail if you see clouds!".

*Monmonnn the necromancer shouts "I never thought to look up before i went if
i didnt know".
*Zarquadon the championne shouts "I forgor to pay attention to the weater".

Eventually, the shark and the jellyfish were taken down. Galandra had to flee from the man, but Monmonnn was able to finish that fight.

With time rapidly running out during the set, some of the mobiles usually found at the upper floors of the pagoda showed up at the area near the swamp and the cave. The ghost was spotted at the rapids, and the phoenix and the mongoose were spotted in the ogre lair and the leprechaun room.

While Galandra found more than one round with the phoenix, Monmonnn sought shark and found it at the sea near the Isle of Woe. The shark proved to be a tough fight, and Zarquadon was still recovering from the fight with the other shark to help. Galandra, meanwhile, needed help finishing off the phoenix and Monmonnn once again swooped in to help. This time accompanied by Zarquadon. The three of them brought down the phoenix.

Galandra made short work of the mongoose, while Monmonnn called for assistance with skeleton0 near the hut. Eventually, it was brought down and the only two mobiles remaining were the spider and the golem.

Galandra had to go get a phial before facing the spider, or otherwise the fight would end in failure. Unfortunately, it took too long to get to the spider after finding the phial, and the set ended with the spider and the golem the last two mobiles left.

Everyone soon found themselves in the tearoom.

The players discussed what went wrong this set, and how various bits of bad luck cost them each plenty of time. There would be another bash later in the month. Did that one go better? Well, that's a story for the next bash report.

Mobile Bash June 12th 2025

And so, despite the absence of usual event organizer Heiach, a mobile bash occurred on June 12th, 2025. Those who showed up for the bash were as follows:

*who

Monmonnn the necromancer
Dara the sorceress

Part One: Undead jamboree at the olive grove

The bash got off to a quick start. Zarquadon rushed into The Land, and made a beeline twoards the maze (bashing a scorpion along the way), before eliminating the bees in the maze. Meanwhile, Dara fought the fox and the piglet, and caught the mouse in the inn. While Monmonnn dealt with the thief, Dara fought the magpie.

The fireflies are mobiles that Dara usually doesn't bother with, but since this is a mobile bash, she dispatched them before getting in a fight with the ram. Monmonnn, meanwhile, found the jellyfish that had eluded him in a previous bash, and after that encounter, made preparations for the pillar.

Dara found the raven and the dragonfly. Meanwhile, an undead jamboree had assembled in the olive grove, including one unarmed zombie who was dealing a suspiciously large amount of damage to Monmonnn.

A male voice in the distance shouts "This zombie is doing incredible damage
somehow".
*A female voice in the distance shouts "probably the pick".
A male voice in the distance shouts "Its unarmed!".

Monmonnn managed to finish off the zombie nonetheless. Meanwhile, Dara fought with the basilisk, and finished it off. Zarquadon and Monmonnn soon showed up for the pillar.

Part Two: Two phials used, pagoda, and a loss

Once the pillar was concluded, everyone went their separate ways. Dara killed the viper, but had to use up a phial to neutralize its venom. Meanwhile, Zarquadon spotted ape11 on the loose.

Dara then grabbed anouther phial to finish off the spider, while Monmonnn went down to the cottage's cellar to deal with the infestation of rats. Zarquadon, meanwhile, went to the inside of the pagoda to face ape10 and ape8. Dara (after finishing the spider) would turn up to help Zarquadon finish off ape8.

Monmonnn, meanwhile, found the, ahem, dragonbane, and then brought the wolf its nemesis. Dara fought ape0 while Zarquadon was fighting ape9 and the monk. After finishing with ape0, Dara headed in the direction of the food preparation area, in response to Zarquadon's announcement.

Meanwhile, Monmonn announced he was going to deal with a vampire. Before Dara could make some card game related joke, THIS happened:

We barely even knew our space-faring sorceress before this tragedy struck. Dara, meanwhile, rushed to avenge Zarquadon. The monk was already weakened from the previous fight, and soon was critically injured (and not just from bad reviews). Meanwhile, Monmonnn was fighting the vampire.

Dara paused to rest before chasing down ape9. Meanwhile, a new participant arrived in the bash.

Soon after, Monmonnn announced "vampire down." Not long after, everyone in The Land heard the terrible RHOAAAUUUAURRRRGGGGGGHGHHHGHHHH of a dragon dying.

Dara soon found and finished off ape9, and announced "Ape9 down! Zarquadon is avenged!". Meanwhile, Monmonnn fought an axe-wielding skeleton1 at the rhododendron tunnel.

Dara would soon take out the other upper north mountain area mobiles, and Monmonnn would deal with the hunchback before announcing dwarf realm was his next goal. Dara and Jinxed would take out ape4 and ape5, respectively.

Dara then went to face the giant snake in the pagoda, and Jinxed would join in. After they brought an end to the giant snake's hissy-fit, Monmonnn announced the goblins had been dealt with and he would be returning to the dwarf realm soon.

Part Three: Dwarfs and upper pagoda

Jinxed, meanwhile, managed to find one of the dwarfs roaming on the surface, and obtained the longsword. Unfortunately, Jinxed wasn't quite strong enough to wield the longsword. That was remedied with a little bit of treasure finding.

Monmonnn did a few WHERE'ing, and discovered that in addition to the skeleton2 in the mausoleum, there were also two zombies, one of them in the graveyard. Jinxed theorized the latter zombie was probably the Zarquadon zombie.

Monmonnn brought down the first set of dwarf guards, and then the second set without too much trouble. Dara, meanwhile, hunted the tiger in the pagoda, and brought it down as the mobile count was reduced to 50. Soon, there were 49 mobiles left, with 48 minutes remaining.

As Monmonnn fought the third set of dwarf guards, and Dara rested, Jinxed went down the well to face water-snakes. Monmonnn brought down the dwarf monarchy. Dara did some ghostbusting on the upper floor of pagoda.

Monmonnn still had to deal with the dwarf guards in the treasure chamber, and Dara reminded him "Don't forget the other set. Surly to bed and surly to rise... ".

Monmonnn managed to get through the latest encounter without using a single wafer. As for Jinxed - well, she was in the well, slowly eradicating some snakes. Dara proceeded to take down everyone's second-favourite Arizonan mob (not the Tuscon, the other one).

While Dara fought the upper floor pagoda mobiles, Monmonnn ran into problems facing the surlies. Apparently, he wasn't able to drink the 'recover stamina' potion vial on 24 health. He had to panic, flee, and re-enter. This caused the surlies to posssess a broadsword, a cape, and four wafers.

The ox was in no shape to fight, as it was swamped. Dara finished off an already weakened billy goat, who had clearly been in a fight recently. Jinxed, meanwhile, finished the water-snakes.

Several minutes later, a stealth operation was conducted with multiple resites and steals to recover four wafers, a broadsword, and other equipment from the dwarves. Jinxed assisted (and nabbed a throne along the way). All three participants (Dara, Monmonnn, and Jinxed) teamed up to finish off the surly dwarf guards.

Part Four: A phial error, and the keep

With that out of the way, it was time to turn attention to the keep. Monmonnn went to the keep, but forgot about the wyvern being poisonous. Dara heard his call for a phial, and went to the en suite bathroom at Il Castellare to get one for him. But Monmonnn had wandered off to the cottage in search of one (he didn't find it, as it had already been used up earlier with either the viper or the wyvern), and Dara ran into him at the keep just in time for the following to happen.

In front of Dara's eyes, the following happened:

Monmonnn the necromancer is here wearing a ring6 and a cape, and carrying a
broadsword, a cardboard box0, a key10 and an opened vial4.
*Monmonnn the necromancer drops dead, poisoned...
Strewn before you is a gothic-looking, oppressively black cape.
In front of you lies a fearsome, yet beautiful broadsword.
A closed, sturdy cardboard box stands here.
An expertly-tooled key has been dropped over to one side.
A well-worn gold ring lies over to one side.
A small, opened vial stands here, labelled: "POTION 4 - regain all stamina".
Monmonnn the necromancer has just passed on.
*sh OOPS!
You shout "OOPS!".

Oops, indeed. As Dara noted later, it was bad timing on both their parts. Fortunately, Monmonnn returned and was able to recover all his stuff.

(For those wandering in unfamiliar with MUD2's game mechanics, what happened to Monmonnn above was a temporary death due to mishap, such as poisoning through wyvern venom. When this happens, the player character only suffers a loss of a few points and some mild indignity. With perma-death - as seen with Zarquadon earlier - they lose ALL their points and every progress they made since they created the character in the first place. We now resume our regularly scheduled bash report).

Part Five: The final 25

Anyway, Jinxed also arrived at the keep, and the three of them talked a bit about what happened with the phials, and then they teamed together to do the keep. After they took down the spectre and the griffin, the mobile count was 25 mobiles left with 20 minutes left to go.

First up was to take care of the remaining mobiles in the area near the keep, the gardens, and the monastery. Dara fought the coot, while Jinxed fought the boar. While Jinxed had little trouble with the swan, and Dara disposed of the zombie2 at the monastery, Monmonnn did have some difficulties with the wraith.

Dara headed to the evil wood to assist Monmonnn, who finished off the wraith and, with Dara's assistance, defeated the skeleton2 in the mausoleum. Momonnn then announced his intention to hunt the sealife.

Jinxed, meanwhile, went to the graveyard to administer last rites to the remaining undead inhabitants of the graveyard. These would be the Zarquadon zombie and the ghoul, the former encountered en route to the latter.

Dara hunted the stag in the deerpark. Monmonnn found the elusive jellyfish. Jinxed continued seeking out remaining undead, forcing her way into the east tomb to bring down zombie7.

Monmonnn rid the sea of the sharks as Dara sought the snugglepuss. Dara, however, severely underestimated the snugglepuss, attacking it at half stamina. The snugglepuss isn't usually the toughest mobile, but Dara had to flee nonetheless. Jinxed would show up to help finish off the snugglepuss.

Monmonnn, meanwhile, encountered his own difficulties with skeleton0, and had to flee. Jinxed, meanwhile, found some straggling dwarfs, and Dara took down the man. Eventually, sk0 would go down as well.

Part Six: The Golem, and the wrapup

Soon, it was down to one mobile remaining: The golem. So the three participants went to perform the ritual needed to access the golem. However, Dara accidentally went in to the golem's sanctum at 50 stamina. She made a valiant effort, managing to get the golem covered in wounds, but had to flee. She was stranded at sea, but it was nothing a re-site couldn't rescue her from.

And so the three of them tried again, and this time Monmonn made it in. Monmonnn was a lot more prepared than Dara was, with wafers and the broadsword at the ready, and soon the following announcement came forth.

*You feel as if a tremendous evil has been rid from The Land! No pawns of
darkness sully it with their presence. The relief of generations of souls
floods through your being!

And so the bash was successful, with 400 seconds remaining. Monmonnn was stranded at the vicious rocks, but Dara was able to deliver a boat to him, allowing him to return to shore and drop the icons in the hut.

Soon afterward, everyone returned to the tearoom to talk about the events of the bash. Monmonnn stated that the fight with the king dwarf had a close call, as the king dwarf pulled a sleep spell or two, and he managed to escape before dangerous hits.

All in all, a successful bash. Despite the loss of Zarquadon and a few mishaps, the players pulled together and succeeded with 400 seconds to spare.

So far, June has had two bashes, one a near miss and the other a success.

Mobile Bash, June 19th, 2025

Dara, Monmonnn, Jinxed, and Cenedra showed up for the bash. But the heat wave was too much and took a lot of the wind out their sails.

Cenedra the mischievious mage had to flee from the heat, and find a place to rest up. Monmonnn was still up to bashing, but Dara and Jinxed didn't really have enough energy for a full-fledged bash.

So the heat defeated them. Maybe next time, they will be better prepared. In the meantime, Dara helped someone that Jinxed met in the Discord who was genuinely new to MUD2.
Here's hoping we see the newcomer again in the future.
