"Or, if you use your imagination: the portal to another universe!"

"Yes! Really! I'll show you. This... and look, I click there... with the thing and... walking... click... see the shapes. Ah, a fight!"
"Is that a hamster?"
"No, it's a death-rat."
"A rat."
"Yes, eugh..."
"In the alternate universe you were killed in single combat by a rodent? Aren't you supposed to be heroic?"
"I suppose so."
"Here, I know these people..."
"Trolls?"
"A lot of my friends are trolls!"
"And in the game?"
"Ha. Very funny."
"So, what's happening now?"
"Ah, right, now, this is my advanced character..."
"And he does what?"
"She is a level 50 dwarf."
"Okay... Anyway, what are you doing tonight?"
"Well, I've got to get in a queue to slay a dragon..."
"Is that a euphemism?"
"I really wish it were."
"Hmm. Me too."

Errr, worrying for many reasons, not least, I'm a wizard and also have killed dragons. Although the codpiece chainmail is a new thing. Hmmm, does everquest encourage you to wear its clothes outside the game? Did this man have 3 foot long red haired briads and call himself Igor, when he was actually called Walter. Hold on, if he was a female dwarf... what were you doing with him Hawumph?... eugh.

I've not played EQ in the last 12 years or so, so can't really comment on a thread started only ten and a half years ago.
Nobody queued up to kill dragons in my day though. The forum rants were brilliant.
