I'm only going to say this once: there are no rules! At least there won't be on the 18th December at 9pm. Richard came up with a great idea for an event, and so we're putting it on just for you.

For one (extended) reset only, you can do no wrong - there will be no limitations to what you can do in The Land. No rules, no consequences! You don't even have to be worried about being reckless, as once this extended reset is finished we'll put everything right back to the way it was.

Worried about looby-looing? Not on that night! Fancy a bloodbath? If you like! It should be a whole load of fun.

See you there,

Foddy

P.S. While there are "no rules", please do not use this as an excuse to be abusive to other players.

Does abuse of other players include gratuitous swearing in generic shouts?

e.g. thinks would A Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore outburst in the style of Derek and Clive be right out and meet with divine fodding.... permanently?

Does this carry over from set to set, if the game somehow gets accidentally crashed?

Well, the 'Nothing to Lose' event happened, and it was certainly one of the strangest sets I've ever participated in.

Apeomancer couldn't be there, so someone had to do what he would have done (one guess as to what that was). And I have NEVER seen such a long list of failed mortal FODs in an OBIT before.

Unfortunately, RL circumstances beyond my control forced me to leave before it was over. By that time, the OBIT was HUGE! There were dozens of extra zombies as well as apes roaming around The Land. I'd copy and paste the last OBIT here, but I think it can wait for the Muddled Times article covering it (I'm sure someone has an OBIT list from the end of the event, anyway).

Why have we never spoken of this? Because it's all too scandalous! If word got out, there'd be a huge outrage and all our plans would be ruined!

Just kidding. Actually, I did a writeup of this for Muddled Times, even though I had to leave before it was over.

Anyway, I stand by my opinion. It truly was one of the craziest sets I have ever been in (perhaps THE craziest). When there's nothing to lose, literally anything can happen.

Why do you keep resurrecting old posts? Are you a wizard or a necromancer Cf? Lol!

This kind of event takes a lot of organisation and preparation and because this is such a big event it's better to save it for a special occasion. But we do happen to have one of those coming up later this year ...
