ok I know i've not played mud in yonks but i'm bored with my usual forums and this one needs brightening up . i have a question for you:
Why is polygamy illegal is the uk in this day and age? This was prompted by something I heard on the radio about a man who was jailed because he had 2 wifes who lived 2 miles apart. Regardless of whether they know about each other or not if a man can have a wife and a mistress why can't he have 2 wifes. Or why cant a woman have 2 husbands. It's a bit old-fashioned, no?

Surely monogamy is pretty much encoded into our genes, hence the emotions of jealousy, love, etc. The idea that you can have more than one partner and both partners are happy with the arrangements is an odd one to the western mind. A happy ideal for some, but an ideal only.
