Nightshire suggested that the mudii webpage sport testamonials conveying the message "join me in the fun".

I think it would be great to collect some. How about it?

I'm having difficultly myself. It helped me to thinkn this way: What would your two-sentence thankyou note be?

Mine's:

"MUD2 is fantastic! Serious long-term appeal; 15 years and counting. Thank you!"

"It is difficult for me to express the sheer joy that playing MUD2 brings, this is due to my mind being fried by the games notorious 'fun-rays'".

I've always clicked "back" as soon as I enter a site with testimonials... it just looks so fake and rip-offish.

No, he means Sue the arch witch from possibly Essex days? This extract is taken from here but there are also references on Richard's site.

"Historical note: "Susan Thomas" was actually a pseudonym adopted by a true MUD addict who lived in Wales (the one with the 3,000 pound phone bill that so many other articles refer to). It turned out she was actually male, and (s)he only stopped playing when arrested for defrauding a government transport agency of 60,000 pounds. The shock of finding out that Sue the arch-witch was actually Steve was unpleasant for all of us."
