I found an old log of mine from a while back, and thought I'd share. Two walked in to the boxing ring...... only one could walk out.
(I'd be happy to post it in color if there's a way)
OK, Beermug the legend nods.
*You are magically transported, and find yourself in the place known as "the
boxing ring".
The boxing ring.
James the necromancer has just arrived.
*'
A cold, chilling Scottish fog rolls into the room as Macleod the Highlander
wizard descends from the Highlands on a wave of blue energy.
*'no magic, right?
Beermug the legend asks "no magic, right?".
*James the necromancer says "a wafer might be nice  ".
*Gizmo the protector has just arrived.
*Tobias the waggish wizard has just arrived with a crash of thunder.
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "Heed its description, mortals.".
*James the necromancer nods.

The boxing ring.
This is the boxing ring, from which there is no escape, except by death. Its
sprung canvas floor is splattered with blood stains; evidence of its use.

Gizmo the protector is here.
With fierce gusts of wind blowing through his long hair and his trenchcoat
flapping about wildly, Macleod the Highlander wizard floats above you, glowing
with violent blue energy carrying an ancient katana.
James the necromancer is here carrying a shortsword.
*Gizmo the protector says "thank you".

Tobias the waggish wizard says "I want a clean fight. No magic.".

*Gizmo the protector makes some magical gestures.
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "If either of you should employ tactics other
than those you have outlined between yourselves, I will bring the matter to a
close by FODing the offender.".
*'ok...
Beermug the legend says "ok...".

Beermug the legend says "just for purposes".
*James the necromancer nods.
*'no magic, we can use weapons...
Beermug the legend says "no magic, we can use weapons...".
*'and of course no fleeing
Beermug the legend says "and of course no fleeing".
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "Gizmo is here to watch. Macleod and I are
here to leer.".
*Macleod the Highlander wizard leers.
*Macleod the Highlander wizard snickers.
*Gizmo the protector smiles.
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "No fleeing. No magic. You may use the weapons
that you each have at the moment. No stealing.".
*Macleod the Highlander wizard says "There can be only one....".
*James the necromancer nods.
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "No help from third parties.".
*Tobias the waggish wizard eyes Gizmo the protector.
*nod
OK, Beermug the legend nods.
*'hehe
Beermug the legend says "hehe".
*Gizmo the protector says "that is fine".
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "Very well.".
*Tobias the waggish wizard says "As Macleod said, there can only be one
survivor..".
*Tobias the waggish wizard exclaims "Go for it boys!".

*James the necromancer has started to use the shortsword to fight!

Ah, Beermug?
It's been a long time. I haven't been as active on MUD2 as I used to, but I still check in from time to time.
I think I remember this one. I was either online at the time, or not long after.

I think you were too. What a sporting waste of a legend...
Anyway, I just had an itch for Mud2 recently and figured I'd pop over. I hardly remember anything anymore <eg> but it's addicting nonetheless.
Now get back in The Land and go make Witch already!
