Mudmeet
Probably the most talked about news this month is the forthcoming mudmeet! Pippin is organising a mudmeet to be held in Colchester, Essex - the home to MUD, MUD2 and one of its creators, Richard! The meet will be held at Yate's Wine Lodge at 2pm on Saturday 6th April. We've collected some information together that is hopefully all you'll need to attend the mudmeet.
Click here for a map of the UK indicating where Colchester is.
Click here for a map of Colchester showing where Yate's Wine Lodge is as well as the train stations (yes, stations plural, there are two train stations in Colchester - Colchester North and Colchester Town).
Click here to take you to the Anglia Railways website for information on trains to and from Colchester.
Click here and here for two lists of BB's, Hotels and Guest Houses in Colchester - these lists just give addresses and phone numbers but no on-line booking.
Click here for the Leisure Hunt web site - the place to go for on-line booking of BB's, Hotels and Guest Houses.
And that is hopefully all the information you'll need to attend next month's mudmeet! If there is anything else you need to know post your question at this forum topic.
A first to Quest Night on the 14th April is Umbrarg's Island! This is what Apeomancer had to say about this amazing quest:
A huge, sprawling monster of a quest, with many separate areas with
their own treasure. It has a somewhat more modern feel than most of the
main Land - the town actually has shops and a dentist, albeit a rather
scary one! Many lovely and beautiful locations, at least two mazes,
some nice puzzles - and a flying machine! Some of the areas include
the mountain with its scree slopes, a fishing town with a lighthouse,
shops, houses and a boat, the pine wood with the wasps floating around,
the caves beneath the isle, the salt mines and a mansion guarded by a
... I'll let you find that out by yourself!

To celebrate a year on the Phoenix server, the April event night will be
an Extravaganza, similar to the Wireplay Extravaganza Event
held in March of last year. The event is an all-on-all combat starting
at novice level. Every 30 minutes every surviving player receives 25
thousand points and the combat resumes. This is repeated 30 minutes
later, then a further 30 minutes later the remaing contestants are
transported to the Dragon Isle to finish the battle.
Prizes for this event will include free time, points, personae and a magazine
subscription. Contact the organiser for further details.

Quest Night
On the 28th is The Gremlins. This quest, written by Mudguard from
mud2.com is also new to Quest Night. A crevice has opened up allowing access
to the gremlin's secret realm. There are lots of puzzles to solve and
some tough mobiles to bash. Oh! And there are also some really smelly
puns. It's a lot easier to enter the quest without magic, so come prepared!
