All alliteration aside, Spamton re-entered The Land to reclaim the croquet mallet, and get rid of the parrot and the mouse. Meanwhile, Zedar went to work in the mausoleum and claimed the sceptre, and left it in the hut. *A male voice in the distance shouts "sceptre in hut". Dara the bash-general sorceress shouts "Spectre in third floor of keep. Don't get them confused. :)". Spamton was fighting the ram when the pillar was announced, but made it to the pillar party along with Dara and Zedar and got the boost. Dara then decided to get rid of the spider early on, since she had found a phial in the monastery while chasing the piglet and needed to find a use for it. The ox came along during the fight, and Dara managed to subdue it and put it in a state suitable for depositing in the swamp. Spamton, meanwhile, encountered the butterfly and the electric eel at the rapids. *A male voice in the distance shouts "[[EelectricEel]] BURNT A FUSE". After Spamton disposed of the eel, he then ventured to the area under the well to face water-snakes. Dara fought with zombie6 and zombie1 at the bank of the river. Meanwhile, Zedar went to get rid of the bees, and while Dara found her way to the chute leading to the goblin passages, Zedar announced that the bees were gone. Dara the bash-general sorceress shouts "Glad you got the bees. It's a Folly no one got them early on this time around. :)". *A male voice in the distance shouts "I see what you did there". There were 150 left, with 88 minutes to go. [b]Goblins, dragon, and pterodactyl[/b] Zedar turned his attention to the rats, while Dara disposed of goblin2 and goblin3 before having a longer fight with the exceptionally large goblin10. As Dara went on to fight other goblins, Zedar finished off the rats. While Dara was fighting with zombie7, Spamton noticed the pagoda was open. Dara had already noticed this earlier in the set, but the shout reminded her of this, so she headed to the pagoda area and fought with ape0. Meanwhile, Spamton sighted a pterodactyl at the middle mountain, and Zedar managed to reach the dragon and do the 'kill the dragon, but not in a fight' task. *In the distance, you hear the terrible RHOAAAUUUAURRRRGGGGGGHGHHHGHHHH of a dragon dying. You have just been woken up! Your stamina is 108. *A male voice in the distance cheers. *who Spamton the guardian Cenedra the lovely mage Dara the bash-general sorceress Zedar the dragon-slaying warlock Drizzle the wobbly mage *A male voice in the distance roars. Spamton decided to fight the pterodactyl and soon caused it to become extinct (at least for the remainder of that set). There were now 100 mobiles left, with 72 minutes remaining. [b]Keep and pagoda[/b] Zedar went to the keep to confront the mobiles there, while Dara fought with ape8. Ape11, meanwhile, escaped the pagoda and made it to the swamp area. According to Zedar's later account, the fight with the griffin was a rough one, and he was very low on stamina as the fight came to an end. He stated that the Griffin had him to 20 but was 'Close To Death' and rather than fleeing and preserving the hours of play put into his Warlock, Zedar foolishly risked it and luckily the Griffin went down. Ape11 was stumbling around outside of the pagoda, brandishing an incense burner. Spamton was able to get rid of ape11, but fell victim to the intoxicating fumes of the incense burner. Fun times! Spamton's problems didn't end there. The hunchback showed up in the swamp area, and attempted to steal the longsword. The hunchback managed to eat wafer55 during his fight with Spamton (Crazyfool had claimed it would be a no wafers set, but clearly did not get rid of all the wafers). Spamton managed to defeat the hunchback despite still feeling the effects of the incense fumes. Dara decided to take on the rest of the ground level pagoda mobiles, and soon put an end to the giant snake's hissy fit. Zedar, meanwhile, gave Spamton a stamina potion, and Spamton went to find a boat to face the swan in the man-made lake. Zedar would then venture into the dwarf realm. The boar was starting to bore Spamton - so Spamton decided to try slaying it. Soon, boardom was defeated. Dara, meanwhile, attempted to incapacitate ape10 by tossing an incense burner into its location, but nothing seemed to be happening, so she lost patience and ended up attacking ape10, and in the process inhaled some incense fumes. Ape10 fled, and Dara accidentally ended up in the upper floor of the pagoda while pursuing ape10. After busting the ghost on the first upper floor, Dara attempted to rest and recover, but was kept awake by the "HIC!" of the fumes every few seconds. Much time was lost for Dara as she attempted to recover stamina without wafers and having little choice but to hope the "HIC"s stopped soon. Spamton invited himself into Il Castellare and whacked the snugglepuss. Then Spamton decided to pick a fight with a spooky scary skeleton1 who just happened to have picked up a pick of its own. Dara was eventually able to recover enough stamina to fight the phoenix and the mongoose on the upper levels of the pagoda. Meanwhile, Ape10 made it near the swamp, and Spamton went to fight it - but ape10 was also carrying incense - and Spamton fell victim to it once again. Dara, meanwhile, hunted the tiger in the pagoda's courtyard, and took out the carp as well. There were now 50 mobiles left, with 35 minutes remaining. [b]Undead and dwarfs[/b] Zedar was fighting his way through the dwarves, whilst Spamton ventured into the graveyard, eliminating a zombie, and heading down into The Tomb to fight the Ghoul. Spamton was knocked down to 14 stamina - but Zedar appeared in the nick of time to help Spamton finish it off. Dara, meanwhile, saw that ape2 was still roaming around and managed to get rid of it quickly. At this point, there were 35 mobiles left, with 30 minutes remaining. Dara finished off the low forest/snowy mountainside area mobiles (the pony and the snowbird - any others were no shows this set), and soon realized that the Evil Wood Tag Team Champions, the Vampire and the Wraith, were still reigning in the evil wood. Spamton decided to venture into the Evil Wood and started fighting the vampire, helped by Dara. The wraith tagged in, while the vampire blinded Spamton and retreated. The wraith was taken down. Spamton, being unable to fight the vampire any longer, decided to retreat from the vampire whilst waiting for his eyesight to return, while Dara pursued the vampire. Zedar joined in and helped finish the vampire off. Dara then proclaimed to The Land "The winners, and NEW Evil Wood Tag Team Champions - Dara, Zedar, and Spamton!". There were now 25 mobiles left, with 23 minutes remaining. As Spamton waited for the blindness spell to wear off (and it did), Dara started to do some WHing to locate remaining mobiles. Zombie8 was still in the passage behind the bookcase, and Dara and Spamton took it down. Soon there were 21 mobiles left, with 20 minutes remaining. Further WHing revealed that skeleton0 and the sealife were all still around. Zedar needed some assistance with the dwarf king and queen, but Spamton wasn't sure where to go. Dara, however, arrived at the king's study just in time to help Zedar take down the dwarf king. Dara would then take down the remaining two sets of dwarf guards, finding a few wafers but using them up in the fight with the surly dwarf guards. Soon there were 12 minutes left with ten minutes remaining. [b]The remaining mobiles[/b] Some WHing indicated that skeleton0, sealife, and the wolf were still around. Skeleton0 was located in 'vertical staircase' (as opposed to horizontal staircase?), but no one seemed in any hurry to access sk0, and it was forgotten about. Dara, on the way out of the dwarf citadel, met with dwarf28, who appeared ready for a poker game. After dwarf28 lost, Dara then found dwarf26 in the dwarf dormitory. Spamton decided to be irresponsible and charge in to a fight with the wolf without any wolfsbane. Nearly died. Zedar saved Spamton yet again. Spamton found a coracle, and decided to rest up before fighting sealife. Spamton fought with shark0 and proceeded to attack it with the longsword, but the fight did not go well. Spamton was forced to flee at sea, on 4 stamina, and ended up in the tearoom. Spamton's stuff washed up on the jetty, but Spamton [i]really[/i] needed to sleep following that [b]incredibly[/b] close call with shark0. Dara, meanwhile, disposed of the jellyfish, and Zedar would show up to help finish off shark1 after she, too, had to flee and re-enter. Dara finished off the coot, and rested a bit. Meanwhile, Spamton went into the mine to get rid of the canary - couldn't find it manually, so he opted to just flood the mine. The reset timer then gave us its only warning. There were only 570 seconds remaining so we would have to wrap this up fast. The canary avoided the flood, so Spamton hunted it down and disposed of it. Only five mobiles were left alive: Shark0, the ogre, the man, the golem, and skeleton0. Unfortunately, each of us had assumed someone must have already gotten skeleton0, so we regarded the fifth mobile as an 'unknown mobile' and wasted time WHing. Spamton decided to try fighting the man. Unfortunately, he went invisible and kept putting Spamton to sleep; eventually, Spamton was unable to continue the fight, so he retreated and slept. Dara was able to finish off the Man, whilst Spamton made his way over to the Ogre. Zedar and Spamton killed the ogre and then an attempt to reach the golem was made, as Zedar headed to the shrine. But we had less time left than we realized, and the set came to an abrupt end, with the golem, shark0, and skeleton0 still remaining. So yes, this was the first less than successful bash in a long time. Looking back, it's easy to see what went wrong. It was a combination of bad luck, bad timing, and a few mis-steps on the part of the bashers. But hindsight, after all, is 20/20. The best one can do is learn from the mistakes and hope to do better next time. All in all, a pretty good bash despite the unsuccessful conclusion. Hopefully things will go more smoothly next time.
