Discuss.

It brought comedy and sci fi together.

It was different.

It was very funny.

It was not predictable

It was a classic ahead of its time.

True, not normally natural bedfellows.

It was different.
Yes.

It was very funny.

Even when not imbibing the occasional herb0 on a friday night it did often have me in stitches.

It was not predictable
It wasnt that predicatable until the last two series when imho they overused the Kryten spacecore directive corrections for Rimmer.

It was a classic ahead of its time.
Agreed!!!

P.s. Craig Charles is a bully and outright meanie on the pool table!

Hmm topical ..

Craig Charles has now lost all street cred and become a cab driver in Coronation Street!

Drops in the odd line tho ..

No, I don't watch it..

Like I told my last wife, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

Now I'm not saying that I've been everywhere and I've done everything, but I do know it's a pretty amazing planet we live on here, a man would have to be some kind of fool to think we're all alone in *this* universe.

Gawd that's a lot of spam.

I totally agree that Red Dwarf is one of the best and most entertaining sci fi programs out there! Bring on series 9!

bah!

Hi Heiach. Ok I admit, I liked the first couple of series or so, but then it got a bit tired and repetitive. What happened to it, did it ever finish?

It finished at season 8 with "The End", followed by "Is It Smeg!". Leaving you to think theres more.

Apparently theres a Red Dwarf film in the works, but theres so little information it could be "VaporWare"(tm).

Yeah, Red Dwarf is good.

I was chatting about this in the tea room earlier today. As I said then, I think the best classic TV comedy series is Fawlty Towers. Basil Fawlty is amazing.

And as there were only ever 12 episodes, it never had the chance to become bad.

In case any one is interested, there are a special couple of *NEW* episodes and a behind-the-scenes making-of on the Dave Channel on Good Friday, next week.

No need to miss it, smegheads!

Ohh, Blib is banned, he scares the Skutters!

It was planned, scripted and due to film, but there were some financial issues ( UK Tax I think ? ) and other stuff so it seems to have been shelved indefinitely / cancelled.

The new Dave episodes have been funded by Dave channel.
