have received this email today allegedly from HMG Department of Health:
?Please be aware for health reasons over the swine flu panic we are advising the general public not to eat tinned pork?
I have checked up on this and the Government have said:

I can imagine Turrican's favourite topic to be his metaphysical debate with Royston about whether data concerning bash success rates exists in pure mathematics or in geometry.

It has to be BOTH. There is little pure mathematics that cannot be expressed geometrically. Ask Euclid he's the expert. More interesting though, if you make a list of successes and failures, allotting a '1' for a win and a '0' for a loss, the resulting binary approaches 'e'.
