Bash report 29/02/2024:

The bash started 30 mins later than expected (better than not at all!) I wasn't expecting anyone to turn up but the Zedar arrived!

So with a fresh reset we both headed north! I took care of the gobs, bas and rats and set up the pillar, Zedar slew the dragon and made a start on the keep. I joined in and togther we took out the maiden and shared the treasure.

Zedar waged war on the dwarfs and I joined shortly after. After a worrying flee from Zedar on some swarf guards, we mananged to take the queen and king down!

Dara and Drizzle joined the set (the latter opting to stay in the tearoom). Sadly with new players meant to mobiles and the pagoda opened. The wiz in charge decided to be rid of the pagoda mobs and the bash ended with Dara killing a canary and skeleton in the final seconds to get the sv count to 5!

All in all a very successful bash, considering! Maybe we'll have better luck next time!

This mobile bash went a lot better than I expected it to. All in all, I'd say that given the circumstances (the late start, one of the participants arriving late), getting the mobile count down to 5 in the last minute was pretty good conclusion.

In any case, I'm certainly open to another bash in the near future.

Bash report 07/03/2024:

We had in attendence:
Torment the superheronine, Mundane the warlock & Dara the necromancess.

The bash started off slowly with a lot of things going wrong meaning we didn't get to the basilisk area until 20 mins in, by that point we had already lost someone!
I got right to the pagoda as that was my new goal for this week and I took care of the mongoose, phoenix and apes and such in short order. Meanwhile the others were having difficulty with the vampire, goblins and dwarfs.

Torment died many times and I followed toward the end of the reset too, with burly dwarf6 getting the best of me. Dara inherited my kit but sadly also fell a short while later to 2 surly dwarfs. The bash this week shall we say, was quite disasterous! We did manage to get the sv to below 25, but a lot of key areas were mostly left alone.

I'd just like to clarify that I let the dove kill me because it was funny.

Bash report 14/03/2024:

In attendance we had:

I was a bit off-footed by yet again not having all of my usual kit so I was slower than I wanted to be at doing the bas area, but we were all there and powered up at the 10 minute mark, so a big improvement regardless!

I grabbed more of the usual items and took on the pagoda. I got to the top of it in short order and then slew all of the apes.

Zedar had a mishap with the dragon but was able to get back there and finish the job despite being burned alive!

The giants opened!!
Thankfully we had Zedar who remembered much of that area. He and Lowfields (aka Folly) took care of the giants and most of the goblins themselves!

I kept running out of magic due to a lack of a certain ring (someone had swamped it??) and had an accident with the touchstone:

After that setback I got myself up to a decent level and took out the tiger. I also made myself useful by killing some of the remaining dwarfs with Galandra, taking out the shark0, sk0 and the wraith too.

Someone shouted asking if the lion was alive so a "helpful" wizard decided to make sure the lion was indeed alive!

Toward the end of the bash we needed to kill the swan and a couple of cows. I faced my fears and took out the spider (I remember dying of poison quite a lot in WP days) and then all was left was the golem!

Everyone got themselves into position and in I teleported! The golem was almost dead within seconds but the "helpful" wizard decided the fight was too short and decided to buff them and kept feeding them wafers. I eventually did the deed with around 150 seconds left:

Thank you for the bash report. I did blow myself up and take two giants with me. I volunteer to do so next time if they reappear.

Lowfields took care of the giants area with his Two Handed Sword. It must have been cool to wield that badboy. We must remember those handcart rats, hey Sepultura.

Well wishes to all. I will try for the next one.

A very fun bash. Very much like the old days.

Some highlights include Galandra and Zedar teaming up at the keep. Galandra also fought with the hunchback, who managed to flee and hide behind skeleton1, the ram, and a few zombies before Galandra (after finishing off those mobiles) caught up with the hunchback.

Lowfield took out many of the goblins in the giant area, and helped take out a giant or two if I recall correctly.

Anyway, there was lots of good teamwork, strategy, and knowledge of The Land, the mobiles, and how various items work on display there. The bash of 3/14/2024 turned out to be a fun one indeed!

Bash report 21/03/2024:

The bash started and the mortals were immediately buffed at the ruins. In attendance were:

I put a couple weapons and such in the hut for the bash proceedings. Lowfields killed the bees and then the monk, Zedar slew the rats. Dara took care of a lot of the surface mobiles while Lowfields expired the sk1 really early! Flexington arrived shortly after the bash started. Zedar ended the goblins in their lair. Lowfields and Dara started eradicating the apes while zedar doomed the dragon to an unpleasant death. Some of the apes fought one another and Lowfields unalived the twins early on too!

Dara attacked the giant-snake but had to flee, twice! Lowfields eventually finished off the coiled foe! Zedar reached champion but the touchstone wasn't very kind, he was soon back up to hero again though (I gave him a little boost):

They were making great progress with only 100 mobiles left still with over an hour of the reset to go! In fact with exactly an hour to go there were only 87 mobiles still living and not long after, they were already down to 75:

Flexington spent quite a while chasing and taking down the hare. Lowfields ascended the pagoda and eliminated the mobiles residing there. Someone who wasn't a wizard this time decided to bring the lion into the world! Dara took to taking out the dwarfs as seems to be her preference, hopefully it'll go better than it did last week for her! However, just as I wrote that, Dara fled from the dwarfs three times! Lowfields quashed the hunchback and then went to aid Dara in her plight but was intercepted by the eagle at the top of the citadel!

Zedar finished off the watersnakes after being interrupted briefly by death earlier. Dara and Zedar then proceeded to start climbing the keep, I guess Dara had had enough of the dwarfs this set? The lion decided to help the mortals out for some reason by slaying the hedgehog! The maiden and her army of crows were slain. With both a lion AND a tiger roaming the land, Lowfields took it upon himself to stay the latter with his newly acquired staff1! Zedar decided to continue working on the dwarfs while Flexington stuck it to the man!

Dara joined Zedar in dwarf-clomping, 3rd time's a charm for Dara? Let's hope so!
Lowfields took out all of the skeletons (and a lot of the stronger mobiles too) himself! Dara ended up having to flee another three times from the surly dwarfs! I think she very much earned her prefix this bash!

Zedar had to flee from the burly dwarfs, seems they're putting up quite the fight this reset! Having had enough of them Zedar opted to use his explosives on them, which he was saving for the giants in the event that they opened. Let's hope they don't! With the threat of the dwarfs deemed too great, all of the mortals banded together to finally finish them off! Lowfields realised someone had left a whole bunch of goblins left and quickly dealt with them!

There were a lot more sealife than usual this reset, what with the albatross, crab and mermaid all spawning. Flexington quickly found the albatross though and ended its life. Lowfields took care of the mermaid and the mortals spent some time trying to work out what was left, being only able to name 6 of the 8 remaining. Luckily they remembered that the lion was about in the nick of time! With the lion being named as a new final boss (much to the chagrin of the golem) they all grouped together to take it out, by this time it was near the keep! Zedar had to flee and Flexington sadly fell to the ferocious foe meaning it was now worth quite a substantial sum of points:

Lowfields and Dara eventually defeated it, with Dara dealing the final blow! Lowfields look out the basilisk which had remained in their lair since the beginning. Dara killed the snail (which was just minding its own business) and Lowfields killed the spider! With 5 minutes left and only the golem left to kill, they all rested for a minute to gather themselves before working together to send one of their number into face him! There were 120 seconds left when they were ready and luckily Lowfields snuck himself in. As they were still trying to organise and meditate, Lowfields had already wounded the golem pretty badly!

With 10 seconds to spare Lowfields dealt the final blow of the now successful bash!

Dara was very lucky she stumbled upon the snail, or otherwise the participants might not have known it was there.

In any case, everyone involved did their part in making this bash a success. It was a great one!

Bash report 11/04/2024:

In attendance were:

Lowfields started as usual by slaying all of the bees! Zedar was voted in as bash general as Dara killed the dastardly piglet and took care of the scorpion too! Rob took on the keep, passing by the new knight mobile for this bash (he's just a helpful guy!). Zedar killed the basilisk and everyone assembled at the classical ruin. They some how ended up getting struck twice though, so doubly buffed -peers at firedemon- hehe!

Dara and Zedar double-teamed the billygoat and then Zedar minced the rats while Rob finished off the keep. Dianne impressively killed the skeleton1! Rob fought against a goblin horde while Dianne wrestled with an elderly monk! Rob attacked skeleton2 but it got the best of him as Zedar jumped in to help him fight it! Rob ended up fleeing as Zedar slew it!

Dara killed the tiger all by herself while Rob and Zedar fought the poor knight together! Dianne took care of the watersnakes while Lowfields claimed the prize of the staff1. Lowfields then proceeded to attack all of the apes at once!! And rather expectantly, he had to flee.

With 54 minutes to go there were only 31 mobiles left so I decided to bring the lion to life and placed him in a tricky spot. Rob started eliminating all of the dwarfs while Dianne killed the snowbird.
Zedar joined rob in regiciding the dwarfen kingdom.

The sv count hit 10 left with 45 minutes to go. Lowfields attacked the new venus fly trap in the flower garden and shouted for aid! None came but luckily he was able to handle it alone!. Rob took on the sealife, drowning once in the process before slaying the ghoul! The bash team summoned the skeleton0 to the hut and all jumped into battle, defeating it. Dianne and Dara took on the fearsome spider together with Dianne succumbing to its venom!

With 33 minutes to go Rob got summoned into battle with the golem and swiftly defeated it! Shortly after cleansing The Land of denizens, Dianne upon reaching championne decided to touch the touchstone:

Some other highlights.

Rob was unable to find the lion, so ended up summoning it.

Dara carried around a phial for most of the set, taking on the scorpion early on, and the viper when it was one of the last 14 mobiles left, and didn't need it for either fight. She only ended up using it when fighting the spider, when it was one of the last three mobiles left.

Golem was the last one left. Zedar and Dara helped Rob to access the golem. Soon, the bash came to a successful end.

Though an effort was made to help Dianne with the touchstone, it sadly failed.

But it was a successful bash nonetheless, with 30 minutes to spare.

Bash Report 4/18/2024

Okay, the bash for 4/18/2024 began with a pair of newcomers joining us. Englebert and Neohenry. They were invited by Acht and joined Acht and other bash regulars Zedar, Lowfields, Dara, and Rob to participate in the bash.

(and for those who didn't see the screenshot for whatever reason, here's the who list in text form)

*who
Heiach the chimerical wizard
Zedar the bash-general necromancer
Englebert the protector
Neohenry the protector
Acht the sorceress
Lowfields the necromancer
Dara the necromancess
Rob the complaining necromancer
Moist

Unfortunately, our newcomers didn't quite grasp the fact that a mobile bash was where the players fight the mobiles, resulting in the following OBIT:

*obit
The following players have died in fights this reset:
Neohenry the protector, killed by Englebert the warrior.

That would not be the only player fatality, For later that set, Unrudename would fall to the tiger.

*obit
The following players have died in fights this reset:
Unrudename the protector, killed by the tiger,
Neohenry the protector, killed by Englebert the warrior.

But that was later in the set. Dara started in the eastern section, taking care of the fox, the piglet, and the scorpion. Meanwhile, the sound of rock splitting alerted people to the opening of the giants realm.

Zedar and Rob disposed of the basilisk early on, and set up the 'pillar event'.

While Dara fought with the thief, others went down to the goblin realms and took care of many of the regular goblins before entering the fissure and fighting with the whistle-blowing goblins there.

Dara fought with some goblins in the pine forest, and managed to toss an explosive into the giant realm entrance nearby. Afterwards, Dara took out many of the goblins in the goblin dwelling area and the fields near the giants' house, and the drake.

Lowfields, meanwhile, ran into some difficulties when facing the giants. After the giants opened, Lowfields had a plan. Unfortunately some goblins got in the way and spoiled plan A. Plan B was then to kill a giant or two, which didn't go so well either, according to him.

But with the help of some spells, Lowfields took down giant0. Zedar was escorted to giant2, and it was taken down with the help of an explosion.

Acht spent the early part of the set helping the newcomers. Despite being new, Englebert managed to deal with the banshee, and Henry took down the parrot. Both newcomers logged off before the bash completed, but hopefully we'll see them again soon.

Dara, meanwhile, moved on to the low forest area, and took out snowbird before encountering a snow leopard. While chasing the snow leopard, the pony got involved, and it took several tries to finally take the pony out, since the snow leopard left Dara with low stam and forced her to flee. Eventually, both the snow leopard and the pony were finished off, and then it was off to the pagoda to take down ape9.

Dara then finished off ape0 and a few of the other apes.

Acht took down snakes and the monk, and also helped Lowfields dispose of the giant snake. The tiger was eventually taken down as well.

Zedar had a tough fight with Shark0. In his words "I almost fled Shark0. I fled Shark1. Later I killed Shark1 with Lowfields. It almost killed Lowfields."

Dara answered a request to blind shark1, and soon it was taken care of. At another point, Acht came to Zedar's rescue when he almost got trapped at the vicious rocks.

Rob summoned two skeletons at once for a rumble in the hut. Dara arrived just in time to help finish off one of them.

The viper was still around late in the bash, but was soon taken care of. After the dwarfs were disposed of, there were only three mobiles left. There was some confusion regarding the lion, but it was settled. According to Heiach, the third mobile (aside from the spider and the golem) was the bison. Zedar was looking for it, but Heiach told Zedar that Rob was already in combat with it.

Acht and Dara both came prepared with phials to finish off the spider, and then it was time to deal with the last mobile: The golem. However, there were a few snags.

Zedar asked people to meditate first to help reach the golem, but due to a timing error, Rob was sent to the golem's location instead, and was completely unprepared to face the golem. Zedar then called Dara for help, and Dara agreed to step in and help salvage the situation by taking the vacated spot. Rob managed to get the golem close to death, though he had to flee and the golem received a buff. Zedar arrived to help Rob and finish off the golem, with the help of the others who medded.

Zedar arrived at the hut with five icons, and Dara swamped one before joining with Lowfields to help loot the giants' treasury of coins and claim the spoils of war. Lowfields, Zedar, and Dara claimed their shares of giant coins and turned them in to the swamp before retiring to the tearoom for the post-bash celebration.

All in all, a successful bash with giants and pagoda opened. I believe we finished with 18 minutes to spare.

Special thanks to notes on the Discord for help with others' perspectives, as well as post-bash chat. As always, anyone's free to add more to this if they like.

From the Discord server, I heard this from Lowfields.

"I think my reset went something like Bees (of course), G28/29/ELG combo, more fissure goblins, giant0, 2 rats in a cart, giant3, goblins, bull (it was at this point I pointed Zedar at giant2), cows, goblins, ape10, ape8, ghoul, carp, giant snake with Acht, ape12, phoenix, mongoose, shark1 with Zedar, Viper with Acht (who I just noticed dropped me a phial but I was also panic running to get one that i'd wh'd in the keep, after it died), the Man with help from Zedar, helped with sk0. With the sv counter at 5, me and Rob killed a firefly each... Then helped rob kill the bison and that was that for me."
