Combat in MUDs |

One of the things I really like about MUD2 is the fact that combat seems really simple at first, but when you've played for a bit you begin to see so many intricacies. Particularly after being PKed a few times, or doing some PKing yourself. Knowledge of the way items / spells / rooms / mobiles / actions / etc. combine can benefit in the most unexpected (when it's used on you for the first time) ways.
I mean, the first time I played the piano in the bar after it appeared there, I immediately started wondering if it would work for me to XXXX the XXXX to XXXXXX someone, while XXXXing the XXXXXXXX, then k player while playing a merry tune.
I don't think it did work, for some reason, but not many games encourage you to think in this way quite so much.
So, I wondered, are other MUDs as good in this respect? Or just ours?

I've never seen another mud with as much depth as MUD2.
