Summer bash makes me feel fine... 
Okay, all reference jokes aside, here's the thread for posting bash reports from July and August of 2025.

Since a LOT happened before, during, and after this bash, I'm going to split this report into multiple posts for easier reading. So here's Part One and Part Two of the bash report for July 10th, 2025.
Mobile Bash July 10th, 2025
Well, July 10th's bash featured the return of Heiach the chimerical wizard after about a month's hiatus. It would also feature the return of someone else, but more on that later.
Dara, Monmonnn, and Heiach were joined by Jinxed, and in the pre-bash conversation, we learned the source of Jinxed's name. It had to do with the number 13. Unlucky? Well, let's see what happens.
The bash began with the following people (both participants and observers).

Part One: A rough basilisk and undead adversaries
Jinxed found herself materializing out in the gardens, and promptly made a beeline to the maze, slaughtering all the bees in her path. Dara, meanwhile, appeared in the area not far from the Admiral Bombow Inn, grabbed the staff, and disposed of the raven and the mouse.
Dara would then head to the east side of the river and fight the fox. Monmonnn was voted bash general. As Dara hunted the stag, Monmonnn went to the wolf's lair and used a trick to remove the wolf from the set quicker.
Monmonnn would go on to seek the basilisk, while Dara disposed of the piglet and the scorpion. She ended up using the monastery's phial in the process, and managed to remove the wyvern from the picture.
Everyone made it to the ruin for the pillar buff. Dara would go on to fight the goat, while Monmonnn noted that the basilisk was a tough fight this set. Jinxed decided to pop over to the mausoleum, to try to sort that headache out. Luckily, today's bash brainteaser was one of the simpler ones. Zombie7 went down without too much hassle, but Jinxed decided to rest up a little before challenging skeleton2 to a bit of croquet.
Somewhere along the line, Jinxed alerted everyone else to the fact that the mausoleum mobiles had been set loose. Dara quickly dropped the ox from the bash.

Dara, meanwhile, noted that the pagoda area was open, and sought out the group of apes roaming the ape forest. She fought and brought down their leader, ape0, creating chaos and confusion amongst the rest of the apes.
Jinxed would soon announce "sk2's been dealt with!". Skeleton2 brought a sceptre to the fight, which hurt quite a bit. But Jinxed was able to pull through, and smashed right through that bony foe.
As Dara and Jinxed rested from their respective fights, Monmonnn shouted "The vampire is going down! I hope."

Dara would then go on to shut down the free pony rides in the northeast pasture east of the snowy mountainside. Monmonnn helped Jinxed to slay the wraith (ultimately being the one to finish it off). Monmonnn made his way to the keep, whilst Jinxed found herself delayed by a few zombies.
After bringing down the snowbird, Dara would go on to fight the monk and ape9. Both Monmonnn and Jinxed would have some detours from the keep, as Monmonnn's attempt to summon assistance failed, and so they would get rid of some rats before eventually coming together to do keep. Jinxed also managed to take out the snugglepuss along the way.
Part Two: Pagoda, Dwarfs, and Bad Luck

As Monmonnn and Jinxed got together to venture into the upper levels of the keep, and Dara prepared to deal with the mobiles on the ground floor of the pagoda, there came the following message:

No, the giants area had not opened, and the giants and such were NOT active in the bash. It was a joke. It was just as well, since Dara was busy with the pagoda and Monmonnn and Jinxed had the keep to deal with. Dara would finish off ape8 while Monmonnn was fighting the griffin.
Eventually, Monmonnn and Jinxed would reach the top floor of the keep. The Maiden fell rather quickly, but one of her crows did manage to escape the fight. Jinxed went back down to try sorting out that problem, but...

Dara, meanwhile, was too busy fighting ape11, and then ape10 to go looking for the crow. She had to sleep off both the fights and the incense she inhaled from pursuing one of her targets into a room with incense burners. Meanwhile, Monmonnn ran into the hunchback.

hunchback...".
Monmonnn would manage to take down the hunchback, and then a short time later would announce that the escaped crow had been clipped, and that he would be venturing to the dwarf citadel soon. Monmonnn would cause a flood in the mines along the way. Meanwhile, Jinxed got slightly delayed by a ram.
Dara would venture into the pagoda courtyard, and find the carp. Heiach announced "92 in 61". Monmonnn would point out a zombie in the graveyard, while Dara ran into the tiger, who had returned to the entrance to the courtyard before her.
Dara would finish the tiger, and went on to bring down the giant snake. There were now 68 mobiles left, with 55 minutes to go.
*Heiach the chimerical wizard invites you to cast your vote will they complete

*For your information: the period of voting has ended. The result was
"POSSIBLY"/"YES!"/"I BELIEVE IN YOU!".

While Jinxed was facing the stocky dwarf guards, Monmonnn was busy dealing with the other dwarfs.
*Jinxed the dragonfly-slaying, cursed sorceress shouts "stockies down!".
Dara the explara necromancess shouts "No expert in the stock market, but that sounds bad for them. ".
Jinxed rested a bit, and Monmonnn announced "The hefty guards are engaged!"
Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "congratulations to them"
Monmonnn the boaring, bash-general warlock shouts "It was a quick reception."
Dara, meanwhile, made her way to the upper floor of the pagoda, where she did some ghostbusting. Jinxed rejoined Monmonnn in time for a battle with the burly dwarf guards.
*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "52 in 47, looking promising".
Jinxed would go on to assist with the confrontation with the dwarf monarchs (both of whom would flee and be finished off by Monmonnn).

Dara, meanwhile, had ventured to another level of the pagoda, and took down the thief and the mongoose. Monmonnn took down the thickset dwarf guards. Dara soon left the pagoda to rest elsewhere, while Heiach noted that the rats were gone, but certain water-dwelling reptiles were still around. Monmonnn and Jinxed would go on to face the surly dwarf guards, but then the following happened.

And so mere seconds after Jinxed uttered those Last Words "wow, these surlies are tough", she was dealt a mortal blow. But what happened?
Monmonn said "It was horrible, I walked into the room, three dwarves assailed poor Jinxed - and suddenly they fell asleep. It was a disaster."
And here's what Monmonnn saw:

You hear a slicing sound, as the surly dwarf11 guard hits Jinxed the dragonfly-slaying, cursed sorceress with his shortsword.
Jinxed the dragonfly-slaying, cursed sorceress kicks the bucket.
In the distance, you hear a bell toll.

middle of the guards...".
*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "probably not on purpose, a failed rs?".
Dara the explara necromancess shouts "Famous Last Words: wow, these surlies are tough. Going to note that
for the report of this bash.".
Monmonnn noted that this was the second time in a bash this year that a player character had died to the surly dwarf guards. In any case, we had lost Jinxed, and were down a participant.
But we would soon be joined by someone we hadn't seen in a while.

Part Three: A Surprise Return, a powerful wand, and goblins
Suddenly, a familiar voice was heard throughout The Land. As Monmonnn finished off the surlies and avenged Jinxed, a participant of bashes past made his return.
A male voice in the distance shouts "HEY EVERY !!!".

Indeed, at this point, Spamton was back in The Land, to the cheers of everyone else.
Spamton the legendary warrior shouts "IN AN HOMAGE TO
[[PopularScienceFictionTvSeries]], I HAVE RETURNED [[ByPopularDemand]]".
Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "we love you Spamton!".
Monmonnn the boaring, bash-general warlock cheers.
Dara the explara necromancess shouts "Before we can [[ComeBackAndBuyMore]], we've got to wrap this bash
up first! Jump right in and help us out!".
And so the bash continued. As Monmonnn fought zombies in the graveyard (including one bearing a resemblance to Jinxed), Spamton found a powerful weapon, and Dara fought the man.
The weapon Spamton found would turn out to be the wand. The wand is a variation on an item from MUD2's ancestor that was deemed too overpowered for MUD2. This version, provided by Heiach, probably doesn't have the exact same capabilities but is still pretty powerful.
Monmonnn announced that his next target would be the goblins. "I have a duel with the big one to make up for..." he added, presumably referring to the exceptionally large goblin10.
Spamton ran into some unexpected trouble, but, as he put it, "ABSOLUTELY [[Nothing]] HAPPENED AT
[[Ogrenamen Square]]!!!".
Dara was willing to fight the ogre, but had to rest first. Meanwhile, Monmonnn announced "the big goblin was not a threat today!"
The ogre had managed to get the wand from Spamton, as Dara and Monmonnn discovered when they fought the ogre. They brought the ogre down, and Spamton was able to retrieve the wand not long after.
Dara left the ogre's lair and headed toward the exit of the cave not far from the swamp, when the magpie showed up, saving her the trouble of tracking it down for the purposes of the mobile bash. Monmonnn would show up and give Dara wafer5 afterward.
Soon there were 18 mobiles left, with 28 minutes remaining. Monmonnn would go after the swan, and then state his intention to seek the dragon, who had managed to go quite a ways into this bash without being fed. Ape6, it turned out, was the last ape remaining. With the canary down (according to Monmonnn), there were 15 mobiles left, with 26 minutes remaining.
Spamton was going after water-snakes around this point, as they had a score to settle from the last time Spamton appeared in a bash. Monmonnn would fight skeleton1, with assistance from Dara.
Dara would take down the spider, while Spamton announced strange numbers while facing water-snakes. Monmonnn went down under the well and finished off the final snake before Spamton got there.
Part Four: Nine mobiles left, sealife, and skeleton0
There were now nine mobiles left. Through some WHing, Dara and Monmonnn were able to determine that the nine mobiles were ape6, skeleton0, shark0, shark1, the dragon, the jellyfish, the albatross, the golem, and one other mobile they had not yet identified.
Monmonnn went out to sea, encountering some sealife on the way to dragon island, while Dara found ape6 in the mixed forest and brought ape6 down. Spamton, meanwhile, armed with both a wand and a longsword, went to sea, but had an accident at the waterfall. Fortunately, he was able to find a parasol and retrieve his stuff.
Monmonnn announced the dragon had been fed, and that the albatross and the shark had teamed up. The albatross would escape, but Monmonnn was able to deal with the shark and find the elusive jellyfish.

While Spamton sought the albatross, Monmonnn went in search of Skeleton0. Monmonnn would announce that the skeleton has fallen apart. Meanwhile, Spamton stated that he did not trust the rough waters.
*In the distance, you hear the terrible RHOAAAUUUAURRRRGGGGGGHGHHHGHHHH of a
dragon dying.
*Monmonnn the dragon-slaying, boaring, bash-general warlock shouts "The genie
stole my boat!".
*Monmonnn the dragon-slaying, boaring, bash-general warlock shouts "And i may
be stranded...".
*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "haha".
*A male voice in the distance screams.
*Clouds are gathering overhead.
*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "hahahahaha".
Part Five: The Final Three
There were now three mobiles left: The golem, the albatross, and an unidentified mobile. Dara was able to identify that mobile as the marmot, which was now at the snow-covered rocky path. Dara headed over there to deal with it.
It was then decided to deal with the golem. Dara was the one who went in to the outer sanctum to face the golem, and she used up the wafers Monmonnn had given her during the fight. After the golem's fall, the albatross was the last mobile left.
Dara went to the hut to drop off the icons, while Monmonnn and Spamton hunted the albatross at sea. From the vicious rocks, Monmonnn announced "They're not flying away this time!"

And so, just as the auto-reset warning happened, the albatross was finished off and the bash was successful. Everyone cheered, and Drizzle suggested "LET US ROTATE!" And so the bash was successful, with 570 minutes to spare.
This is usually the point where the participants swamp the icons and any other bits of treasure left in the hut or elsewhere, and then head to the tearoom for the post-bash chat.
However, things went a little differently this time around. Monmonnn would ask a question that would lead to a surprise bonus event. But the bonus event is a subject for the next post.

The Post-Bash Bonus Event, July 10th, 2025: An Unexpected Trip to the Giant Realm
In the midst of the post-bash swamping of treasure, Monmonn raised a question.
Monmonnn the dragon-slaying, boaring, bash-general warlock shouts "Would the
bash still be a success if suddenly some mobiles would appear?".
Spamton the chosen hero shouts "[[Won'tCount]]".
Dara the explara necromancess shouts "It's after the fact now. Spamton's right. It won't count.".
*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "you can't get another 3k either".
*Spamton the chosen hero shouts "IT HAS BEEN [[Tried]]".
Despite this, there was soon the sound of rock splitting, and 49 mobiles spawned. The giants realm, and the expanded goblin cave and dwellings area, had opened. Monmonnn and Dara ventured there to see if they could take out a few of those, even though the main bash was over.
After taking out a number of goblins, Dara had to rest, and there were 35 mobiles remaining. Monmonnn also took out his share. Heiach extended the time of the reset by a few more minutes to allow more time for them to actually take on a giant or two.
34 alive, 264 dead.

Dara took down some goblins, and went to help Monmonnn with giant0, but had to flee at 9 stamina. Indeed, it was a rough fight, and the giants can deal heavy damage if the players aren't careful. Monmonnn was left to fight giant0, and then giant3.
*Heiach the chimerical wizard says "I'll have to check the lineup".
*Heiach the chimerical wizard shouts "the ths is special".
*Monmonnn the dragon-slaying, boaring, bash-general warlock shouts "Oh my lord
that was close".

Dara would rest up and return to help with giant3, and with a few of goblin44's five-goblin band that had joined in the fight. Dara had found the two-handed sword at this point, and used it as a weapon. Giant3 fled several times, and eventually Dara and Monmonnn caught giant3 at the rutted path, where the following ensued (from Dara's perspective):
Rutted path.
You are on a narrow, muddy path that is heavily rutted with cart tracks. These
disappear through a gap in a line of bushy trees to the northeast, but
continue to the south along with the path itself. East burns a cooking fire,
with some scrappy gardens to the southeast; beyond both of these is a line of
three small dwellings. To the west are meadows of deep grass. An
athletic-looking, one-eyed, female giant grins at you evilly.
*You attack the giant3, using the two-handed sword as a weapon.
*You hit the giant3 (10-14).
You have killed the giant3.

Indeed, it was a close one, as Dara was on low stamina when the giant3 fell, and Monmonnn also barely survived. The set (and the bonus bash) soon ended, and everyone ended up in the tearoom for the post-bash chat.
Much of the post-bash chat was about the giants, the two-handed sword, and the pack of five goblins. Dara noted that she does use a spell on giants during combat, but left the others to guess which one (and no, it's not the CHANGE spell. Dara might use that spell every now and then, but not during combat).
As for the bash proper, the marmot was brought up as it's one of those rarely-seen mobiles that sometimes spawns in The Land (the same can be said of the albatross). Someone mentioned a unicorn, and to our surprise, one appeared in the tearoom.

Dara the necromancess says "I thought the unicorn was just a MUD2 urban
legend. There was this legend that if you let the lion (the living version)
roam long enough, eventually it'd encounter a unicorn.".
*An inquisitive raccoon watches you closely here.
Please note, I can't say whether or not this legend is true, but I do recall it being mentioned in an article in either Muddled Times or Admiral Bombow's Chronicles. In any case, the subject of rarely seen mobiles continued for a while before the post-bash chat concluded.
In Summary:
This was quite an interesting bash, with two or three twists not many saw coming. We had the return of Heiach at the start, and the return of Spamton in the middle, and we had an unexpected post-bash event. In addition to all the usual chaos of MUD2 mobile bashes.
There was also (as Monmonnn would note later) a lot of cooperative play during this bash. Monmonnn teamed with Jinxed at keep and dwarfs (until the incident with the surlies), and joined with Dara facing skeleton1, ogre, and a few others, and teamed with Spamton when seeking creatures at sea.
Indeed, just about anything can happen during a mobile bash. No two bashes are alike, and all of them have the potential for surprises. This was indeed a memorable and incredible bash.
