Mine is dead, first loss of one. Hopefully the last... Not likely. How did everyone else feel about loosing their first?

It was a LONG time ago, but I felt ... gutted at losing my first magic user. All the risk I'd taken just to get there and I had to start all over again.
In any case, I've gotten wiser and better since those days. And generally conditions in MUD2 have improved since then. Back then, we had to play on dial-up and lag was a really terrible problem. Many people suffered disconnects at the worst possible times. Those were dark days.
Things are better now. While sometimes those things might still happen, I'd like to think they don't happen as frequently as they did back in those days.

I do remember the dial up days and the tragic events of a lost connection I got lucky and never lost a character because of a lost connection although, I was not playing here at the time. Things could have been different if I had.

Condolences.
I remember it as a great loss to my 12 year old self around 30 years ago. I cried, and I didn't share how I felt with anyone. Thanks for the free therapy, ha!
